Christmas & Permanent Light Installation in Chelsea, AL

Seasonal displays and year-round architectural lighting for Chelsea homes along the 280 corridor.

Lighting built for Chelsea rooflines

Chelsea is the newest housing we work on in the metro, and that makes it the most predictable in a good way. Almost everything here has gone up in the last twenty-five years as the 280 corridor filled in through Shelby County — straight continuous fascia, sound seamless gutter, wide frontages, and lots that sit on rolling ground with woodland behind. The houses are big, the rooflines are simple, and the peaks are high.

That combination is exactly what permanent lighting was designed for. A track under the roofline reads as trim in daylight and one install covers December, a Fourth of July weekend and everyday warm white. Seasonal displays are busy here too, mostly bought by people who have already discovered how far off the ground the front gable is.

What a Chelsea install actually takes

Height on sloping ground. The frontage is usually reachable; the back of the house, where the lot falls away toward the trees, frequently is not. That is lift work and it needs a plan, not optimism, so we walk the property first and price the run we can reach properly. Fixings are straightforward on stock this new, which means the time goes into access rather than hardware.

Chelsea is also spread out, so scheduling matters. Being downtown puts us up the 280 corridor rather than across it, and in-season service calls get grouped so a dark section does not wait on a half-day drive.

What we install

Christmas & Seasonal

Full-service holiday displays: design, commercial-grade lights, installation, in-season service, then takedown and storage.

JellyFish Permanent

Track-mounted permanent lighting tucked under the roofline. Millions of colors, app controlled, holiday or everyday.

Bosso Smart Lighting

A permanent lighting alternative with its own fixture and control system. We fit it to homes JellyFish does not suit.

Commercial & HOA

Storefronts, offices, common areas and entrances, scheduled installs that work around your business hours.

Christmas and seasonal light installation in Chelsea

Seasonal lighting is a full service, not a box of lights from a shelf. We design the display around your roofline, install commercial-grade product cut to fit your house, and service it through the season if anything goes dark. After the holidays we take it down and store it until next year, so nothing lives in your garage and nothing gets crushed between seasons.

Booking order decides the calendar. Installs run in the order they are booked, so the earliest dates go to whoever called first. If you want the lights on before the first weekend of December, get on the list well before the season starts.

Permanent outdoor lighting in Chelsea

Permanent lighting is a slim track fixed under the roofline that stays up all year and reads as trim from the street. Run warm white on an ordinary evening, color through December, orange and white for a Saturday in autumn, or switch it off entirely. It is all controlled from an app, so nobody climbs anything.

We install two systems. JellyFish is the one most people have heard of and we are an authorized dealer. Bosso is an alternative with its own fixture and control system that suits some rooflines better. We bring both to the consult and tell you which fits your house, including when that is the cheaper option.

Commercial and HOA lighting in Chelsea

We light storefronts, offices, entrances and common areas as well as homes. Commercial work is scheduled around your trading hours so the install never costs you a business day, and a larger property can be phased across several visits.

If an HOA, a landlord or a historic district has rules about fixture color, brightness or where a track may sit, bring them to the consult and we design to them from the start rather than asking for an exception later.

Chelsea questions we get asked

How far out do you actually come? Chelsea's big.
All of it. Chelsea is genuinely big, though. The city covers about 24 square miles, so two Chelsea addresses can be twenty minutes apart. US-280 only clips the northern edge, which surprises people, because a lot of Chelsea sits down county roads well south of the highway. We group installs and service calls by area so a dark section doesn't wait on a separate trip out.
We're building. Should we do this during construction?
Yes. Chelsea is where that question comes up most. The city had about 900 residents when it incorporated in 1996 and it's many times that now, so most of what's here is recent and a fair amount is still going up. Fitting a run during the build means the trim is accessible, power gets planned in, and nobody works around finished landscaping. See for home builders.
Chelsea doesn't have a historic district. Are there rules here at all?
City rules first, then your subdivision's covenants. There's no historic review to clear, but almost every neighborhood in Chelsea was platted in the last twenty-five years with an association attached, so covenants are the thing most likely to have a say on fixture color or placement. Read yours before the consult. The Birmingham FAQ covers what an association usually wants to see.
Everyone on our street already has this. Does ours become pointless?
No, but it changes what a good design looks like. Chelsea streets tend to be one builder's elevations repeated, so the outlines really are near identical and a display trying to be louder than the neighbors just reads as noise. What separates them is the color program and the schedule, and that's a settings conversation at handover, not a hardware one.
Is a Chelsea install cheaper than an over-the-mountain one for the same size house?
Often. It's the one fair generalization in this market. A Chelsea roof is new, continuous and predictable, so linear footage is most of the number. Over the mountain in Homewood the same footage can carry tile, interrupted edges and a lift position nobody can find, and that time is real. Height is the one thing that pushes a Chelsea quote back up.
