Christmas & Permanent Light Installation in Hoover, AL

Seasonal displays and year-round architectural lighting for Hoover homes and Riverchase-area businesses.

Lighting built for Hoover rooflines

Hoover is where the metro’s large newer housing went, and the rooflines reflect it: Riverchase, Bluff Park, Ross Bridge and Greystone run to wide frontages, long straight fascia, seamless gutter, and plenty of two- and three-storey elevations on sloping wooded lots. It is the most straightforward stock in the metro to fit a permanent track to, and the least sensible to be climbing every November.

So permanent lighting is the strongest fit here, and it is usually what people come to us for. The fascia takes a track cleanly, it reads as trim in daylight, and one install replaces every December after it. Seasonal work is busy too, and the two run together — plenty of Hoover customers start seasonal and move to permanent after seeing the ladder work up close.

What a Hoover install actually takes

Height and slope, in that order. A three-storey rear elevation over a walkout basement is normal here, and a gable over the entry usually puts the top line out of ladder reach at the front as well. Mature planting can make lift placement the hardest part of the day. We settle access on the site visit and run power to a sensible point rather than trailing leads across a lawn.

The commercial side is substantial. The Riverchase Galleria area, Patton Creek and the office parks along 31 and 459 are retail and workplace frontage where a dark facade beside a lit one loses. Those runs are permanent more often than seasonal, and they are sectioned around trading hours.

What we install

Christmas & Seasonal

Full-service holiday displays: design, commercial-grade lights, installation, in-season service, then takedown and storage.

JellyFish Permanent

Track-mounted permanent lighting tucked under the roofline. Millions of colors, app controlled, holiday or everyday.

Bosso Smart Lighting

A permanent lighting alternative with its own fixture and control system. We fit it to homes JellyFish does not suit.

Commercial & HOA

Storefronts, offices, common areas and entrances, scheduled installs that work around your business hours.

Christmas and seasonal light installation in Hoover

Seasonal lighting is a full service, not a box of lights from a shelf. We design the display around your roofline, install commercial-grade product cut to fit your house, and service it through the season if anything goes dark. After the holidays we take it down and store it until next year, so nothing lives in your garage and nothing gets crushed between seasons.

Booking order decides the calendar. Installs run in the order they are booked, so the earliest dates go to whoever called first. If you want the lights on before the first weekend of December, get on the list well before the season starts.

Permanent outdoor lighting in Hoover

Permanent lighting is a slim track fixed under the roofline that stays up all year and reads as trim from the street. Run warm white on an ordinary evening, color through December, orange and white for a Saturday in autumn, or switch it off entirely. It is all controlled from an app, so nobody climbs anything.

We install two systems. JellyFish is the one most people have heard of and we are an authorized dealer. Bosso is an alternative with its own fixture and control system that suits some rooflines better. We bring both to the consult and tell you which fits your house, including when that is the cheaper option.

Commercial and HOA lighting in Hoover

We light storefronts, offices, entrances and common areas as well as homes. Commercial work is scheduled around your trading hours so the install never costs you a business day, and a larger property can be phased across several visits.

If an HOA, a landlord or a historic district has rules about fixture color, brightness or where a track may sit, bring them to the consult and we design to them from the start rather than asking for an exception later.

Hoover questions we get asked

We're in Bluff Park, not Greystone. Does this page apply to us?
Less of it than you'd think. Bluff Park is where Hoover started, up on the crest of Shades Mountain, and the city grew outward and downhill from there through the late 1950s. The stock runs to smaller houses from that era rather than the wide new elevations further south. Shallower fascia, interrupted edges, and a roof a ladder can usually reach. On a lot of those houses seasonal work is the better buy and we'll tell you so at the consult. The crest streets in Vestavia Hills present the same edge.
JellyFish starts at $4,000 and Bosso starts at $3,000. Why would we pay the difference?
You're paying for a different fixture and a different app. Neither one is brighter. On the long straight fascia through Riverchase, Ross Bridge and the newer Greystone sections both systems fit, so the roof isn't picking for you, and that thousand dollars is often small against the footage on a frontage this wide. Decide on the look and the control you want. We'll say if your roof rules one of them out. More on JellyFish lighting.
How long does a Hoover install take? We've got a wide frontage.
A day for most houses, two when the run is long or the lift has to be repositioned more than once. Wide elevations are quick per foot and slow per setup, so the number of lift positions predicts the day better than the linear footage does. We tell you which one you are at the consult.
Half our street is in Shelby County and half is in Jefferson. Does that change anything?
Not for us. Hoover is one city with one set of building rules, whichever probate office holds your deed.
We're selling in three years. Does this come with us or stay?
It stays with the house. The track is fastened to the roofline and the controller goes with it, so the next owner picks up the app account at closing. Whether it returns the money at resale is a separate question and nobody in this market can promise you a figure. Buy it for the years you're in the house.
